The Little Fellow Who Follows Me

Each Day With You

Trusting in the Storm

Walk With Me

His Love Supreme

I Saw The Lord

You Tell on Yourself

If I Had Known

Love Your Children

The Pessimist's Creed

If We Knew

The Home a Haven

The Name of Jesus

The Contrast (Infidelity Answered)

A World of Sin

A World of Turmoil

Not Me, But Others

Walking at Morn

At Sunset

Blessed Fellowship

Only Jesus

His Countenance

Am I a Builder?

A Life Transformed

Make me A Child Again

Thankfulness

Comfort in Sorrow

If Jesus Came to Your House

My Lord and I

I Live Alone, Dear Lord

The Cow Path

So Many Tears

The Family Table

A Godly Woman

Only One Life

Only Just a Minute

The Clock of Life

I Asked God for Strength

THE RESTAURANT

A restaurant is a fascinating place—
An interesting place to be.
I take my seat and settle down
For it’s a place to taste and see.

I look out to the tables and chairs
As people take their seat.
With tables laden with high fat food,
The folks begin to eat.

I sit amazed at the vastness of
The fare that people choose.
I marvel as they gorge themselves

And thoroughly their body abuse.

The diners all sit around,
Choosing many a treat,
Filling their stomachs full
As they eat, eat, eat!

Some tables are crowed with food,
As the people choose and pick,
Sating their appetites
So much that they surely must get sick!

Have they never ever heard
Of fat, cholesterol, and salt?
Have they never really considered their health,
The sickness that surely will result?

I wonder if they really know
What calories in food will do.
Do they not care that heavy weight
Will one day surely ensue?

They load their big plates high,
Choosing their food by taste,
But then leave it half-eaten,
All sadly going to waste.

Some are thin and need to eat—
For they are skinny and trim.
They need more calories to exist
For they have always been thin!

But others are fully obese
And yet they gorge and chew—
For them the high fat foods
Should definitely be taboo.

Obsessed these people must be
As their cravings they gratify;
In contrast to wholesome fare,
Their appetites would satisfy.

Why have high blood pressure today
And diabetes by being indiscreet?
We should seek good health and nutrition,
And choose foods wisely to eat.

Some just sit with partners and friends
And no conversation is heard,
While others are so talkative,
Yes, filled with many a word.

Some sit quiet, absorbed,
While others have animated talk;
Some are so overweight
That they can barely walk.

We learn some lessons on life,
As we sit in quietude;
We ponder people and health
As we see the restaurant food.

In the restaurant we must know,
And good habits we must remind,
For God our Creator is there
And He owns our body and mind!

A restaurant is an interesting place,
Beyond what we may eat.
Just open your eyes and ears next time—
Don’t let temptation defeat!
