LEGAL
VS. MORAL
William Noels comment
in his letter, "Homosexual Rights," is correct in
seeing a difference between "legality and moral acceptability."
The recent Supreme Courts ruling on homosexual rights
may determine what is "legal" and "illegal" in
the United States. However, it does not address what is moral. (Abortion is another example of this.) Indeed,
homosexuality continues, as it always has, to be an immoral
orientation and sodomite acts continue to be immoral
acts.
While homosexuality
may be approved by a certain minority of our countrys
population, this does not make it moral. What
is more significant is the fact that this sin violates
the higher Law of God.
He is the One who created us and reveals what is moral and
immoral, what is natural and unnatural, what is pleasing
to
Him and what is displeasing to Him. He only approves of a
sexual relationship between one man and one woman who are
committed together for life. Anything other than this may
be "legal" but neither "moral" nor
pleasing to God our Creator.
