Bible Reading
Schedule
There
are many different plans and schedules to read the Bible. Some
suggest reading 15 minutes a day, others suggest a half
hour, and others advocate even longer. Some
would say to read 10 verses of the Bible, others would
say one chapter, and still others would recommend ten chapters. Some
would recommend choosing a Bible book and reading it ten
times, over and over. And
others would advocate beginning in Genesis and reading
straight through to Revelationthen repeating this schedule. There
are benefits and disadvantages to some of these plans and
programs. We
do believe that regular, planned, careful reading is the
bestrather than sporadically reading or reading here and
there, without any system.
Weve
never tried the following Bible reading schedule but it
may appeal to some of you who wish to have a general overview
of the entire Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation. This
schedule was formulated and is practiced by Wes from his
website. You can print this page and then note the
date and perhaps the time it takes to read each section. Please
see the accompanying schedule for the suggested times for
reading.
